Okay, the cats out of the bag. I have been waiting for this moment several months now. Isn't the cover stunning? I'm really excited about Vogue Knitting's 2013 Crochet Collectors Edition coming out because they chose one of my designs for the magazine. You may want to order your copy ASAP, because they sold out pretty quick last year! If you know the history of this magazine, you will understand why.

Hi Mary Jane! Great minds think alike... I did a post on the new Vogue Knitting/Crochet Issue earlier this week! LOL.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Eileen
Dear Mary Jane! Huge congratulations! One of the bags? White? Or plum scarf? I didn't buy 2012 one, but I will buy this year issue!
ReplyDeleteNatalia, thank you so much! I'm flattered hearing that from someone I admire so much :) Mine is actually the ivory colored lace bag with tassels.
ReplyDeleteIt seemed white to me on the phone. You inspire me so much. They should do crochet issues monthly. This is such a great magazine.
DeleteEileen, I went to your blog and tried to find your post on the new VK Crochet but couldn't find it! I'd love to see it :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary Jane,
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of my designing sister! I know your design is the cream-colored bag with tassels! I love it! Very unique!! Was it hard to line the bag? I guess you could use any color fabric to line it!
Again, I am so proud of you! I'll have to get me a copy!
Love you!
Judy Drewett
Thanks Judy! :-) No, bags are not hard to line. You just basically measure the width & length of the purse & allow enough fabric to fold over at the top. If the bag is flat (like a tote) you can just cut the fabric in 1 piece, fold it (so fold is at bottom)& sew side seams, but if the bag has depth with sides, you may want to make side inserts (gussets). I have several instructions on linings (with all my purse designs) Then you just either machine sew or hand stitch it to the inside (with right side facing). I usually tack the top to the inside of the bag by hand, but I also like to add pockets to the inside.
ReplyDeleteIf you want a copy, I'd say either buy it on the newsstand as soon as it's out or order it online, because they sell out fast.
Love you!
Mary Jane
