Peek A Boo Crochet Shrug and Hat

My Peek  Boo Shrug Design published in Kim Werker's Book, Get Hooked Again.
See link to FREE hat pattern below.

Many of you have probably heard of Kim Werker, who actually started the famous blog she called "Crochet Me". There are  many free patterns  posted, as well as paid patterns and all kinds of info about
crochet. After a few years she retired from that blog and it is now run by Interweave Crochet.

But years before she retired, Kim wrote her book Let's Get Hooked, which was geared
more for young women. The designs would actually appeal more to teenagers. Then later, she decided to do Get Hooked Again! and she opened it up to other designers. So I submitted this shrug and skull cap and she accepted both for the book. There wasn't enough room in the book for the hat, so the free pattern  for my hat is Here

Wine Crochet Shrug - FREE Pattern by Mary Jane Hall

This easy crochet shrug is so cozy with the soft yarn that is used. It was originally published in a book called Top It Off! which is a book of designs by several different designers. I was fortunate enough to get my 2 designs on the front cover! That's always an honor. This pattern is now being offered as a FREE pattern HERE. I am really sorry the pattern for this shrug is no longer posted at that link. I will try to add my own personal pattern of this shrug here when I have the time. Please contact me if you want the pattern.

Wine Shrug by Mary Jsne Hall - Free Crochet Pattern

The pattern is basicslly a rectangle, so it's pretty quick and easy. This shrug would be a nice addition to your wardrobe for those cool nights and days.
See the ways below this shrug can be worn. It can be turned into a scarf and a wrap too!

Crochet Wine Shrug

This Wine Shrug was also published in the Annies Attic book, Top It Off, and is shown on the front cover, along with one of my other original designs, the mint green Cropped Sweater. Although this book is out of print, it is still sold in stores and online. I've also seen it on eBay for $2.00. Btw, the shrug is a long rectangle, so is easy enough for beginners!

Top It Off by Annies
I came up with  many different ways to wear thiis
shrug, as that is one of my passions. I have always liked to take one project and see how many different ways it can be worn or how many different projects I can make from one basic pattern. Those of you who know me as a designer, know this is something I love doing. In Crochet That Fits (shown at right) you'll find a basic capelet that uses the same basic shape to make 7 diffrent projects.  I made a basic capelet, skirt, purse, turtleneck capelet and hat. Not in the book are also a lamp shade, throw pillow and a tree skirt using the same shape. All you do is change the yarn size or hook size for the different projects. I also have a Cowl pattern for sale here on my blog, called the Cabled Cowl and from the same exact piece (without changing the yarn or hook), you can form it into a cowl, skirt, capelet, tote bsg, pillow and hoodie.

See ways below to wear this shrug. It calls for a bulky yarn. Read more details on my Ravelry psge HERE http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wine-shrug.
