Vogue Knitting Crochet 2013 - Sneak Peek!

Okay, the cats out of the bag. I have been waiting for this moment several months now. Isn't the cover stunning? I'm really excited about Vogue Knitting's 2013 Crochet Collectors Edition coming out because they chose one of my designs for the magazine. You may want to order your copy ASAP, because they sold out pretty quick last year! If you know the history of this magazine, you will understand why.

Vogue Knitting Crochet 2013 Collectors Issue

For those who don't realize it, Vogue Knitting had not published a crochet magazine since 1994. I bought that issue way back then and it's been one of my favorite crochet books for many years.

That crochet version was very successful, so I have no idea why the publishers waited 18 years to do another crochet version. They finally put out a VK Crochet 2012. Since it was such a huge success, they immediately started making plans for their 2013 crochet version. Keep in mind they only published one crochet issue last year, and as far as I know this is the only VK Crochet magazine till 2014, making the book well sought after. Also popular for their gorgeous background settings behind the designs and models, you will not be disappointed!.

Their crochet issues are just as classy as other Vogue Knitting magazines, so I have been coveting a spot for one of my designs. Scroll down to see several projects featured in the 2013 issue. You're eyes will be drawn to the colorful pages of designs

You can only imagine how thrilled I was when I got the email saying one of my designs had been chosen for Vogue Knitting Crochet 2013! Some include Jill Wright, Vickie Howell, Robyn Chachula, Mari Lynn Patrick, Carol Ventura, Charles Voth, Mary Beth Temple and many more you may recognize. 1. It seemed white to me on the phone. You inspire me so much. They should do crochet issues monthly. This is such a great magazine.

  5. Hi Mary Jane,
I am so proud of my designing sister! I know your design is the cream-colored bag with tassels! I love it! Very unique!! Was it hard to line the bag? I guess you could use any color fabric to line it!
Again, I am so proud of you! I'll have to get me a copy!
    Love you!

  6. Thanks Judy! :-) No, bags are not hard to line. You just basically measure the width & length of the purse & allow enough fabric to fold over at the top. If the bag is flat (like a tote) you can just cut the fabric in 1 piece, fold it (so fold is at bottom)& sew side seams, but if the bag has depth with sides, you may want to make side inserts (gussets). I have several instructions on linings (with all my purse designs) Then you just either machine sew or hand stitch it to the inside (with right side facing). I usually tack the top to the inside of the bag by hand, but I also like to add pockets to the inside.
If you want a copy, I'd say either buy it on the newsstand as soon as it's out or order it online, because they sell out fast.
    Love you!
